At CES 2022, ASUS has unveiled a very unusual product called the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED. Formally, the manufacturer positions the device as a laptop, but outwardly it looks like it only remotely. Zenbook 17 Fold OLED features a 17.3-inch fold-out OLED touchscreen display.

In this form, the novelty can be used as a tablet, and by turning the device to a horizontal position and connecting a wireless keyboard to it, it can be used as a stationary PC. When folded, the tablet resembles a laptop. The manufacturer claims that the device has been tested for 30 thousand open / close cycles.
The screen occupies 87% of the front side space, has an aspect ratio of 4: 3 and supports a resolution of 2560 × 1920 pixels. The panel claims support for 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space, a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000: 1, a response rate of 0.2 ms and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. The display is VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black and Pantone certified.
For the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED, the manufacturer is ready to offer the latest Intel Alder Lake-U processors, up to the Core i7-1250U model, up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, as well as an M.2 NVMe drive with support for PCIe 4.0 x4. Also declared support for wireless standards Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E with the exclusive Wi-Fi SmartConnect function, which improves the quality and stability of communication. It also indicates the presence of two Thunderbolt 4 (USB Type-C) connectors with Easy Charge fast charging and one 3.5 mm audio combo connector.
The ASUS Zenbook 17 Fold OLED will ship with a 1.4mm ErgoSense Bluetooth keyboard. The portable system also features four Harman Kardon speakers with Dolby Atmos sound support.
The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED is powered by a 75W battery. The dimensions of the device when open are 378.5 x 287.6 x 8.7 ~ 11.7 mm, and when closed, they are 287.6 x 189.3 x 17.4 ~ 31.9 mm. The weight of the novelty without the keyboard is 1.6 kg. The company has not announced anything about the price and availability of the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED.
